Welcome to Miss Myers' Class!

Home Learning

Due to COVID we are currently on Home Learning. Work will be set every night to complete via dojo.

Maths: We will be continuing with new learning in Maths. For the Year 4's this is currently Multiplication and Division and will also include Area as well as Fractions while for the Year 3's they will be looking at money, statistics and measurement of length and perimeter. On a Friday, children will be continuing with Memory Maths, focusing on work already covered.

Writing: A grammar starter will be provided every lesson as well as a Spelling task. Work will include videos, pieces of text or pictures and children will do a variety of different styles including stories, description, diaries, fact files, persuasive paragraphs etc.

Reading:
Children will be set a reading activity everyday. Monday to Wednesday will be a RIC (Retrieve, Interpret and Choice) which they have done before. On Thursday an inference activity will be set and on Friday a Reading Comprehension will be set with the questions focusing on retrieval, vocabulary and inference.

Word of the Day: A word of the day activity will be set daily for the children to complete to help improve their vocabulary and understanding of words as well as being able to use them in context.

Afternoon Activities: A series of afternoon menus will be set on a weekly basis for all children within the family at home to complete. Please don't forget to upload these onto portfolio for me to see.

I will be available during the day through class dojo if any help/support is needed. I am still currently teaching in school so may not reply straight away but will reply as soon as I am able.

 Key Information

As we will be outside, please ensure children are dressed appropriately.  Please can you also make sure that all jewellery is removed.

Homework this year will be focusing on children reading at home, spellings and  practicing their times tables.

Spellings:

Reading: Checked on a Monday. Please send in a video through class dojo.
Times Table Rockstars: Challenges will be set on a weekly basis.
