My name is Sue Spenceley, and I have been a  Governor at North Wingfield Primary School for eight years. I have recently become the new  Chair of Governors. 

I have lived locally for over forty years and know the school well. 

I have been in education all my life, first as a teacher and 25 years as a Headteacher. 

I am passionate about children’s education especially encouraging them to love learning from an early age. 
I am also interested in developing a partnership with the parents of North Wingfield Primary School and would welcome your views about the school.

I studied for my Bachelor of Education degree at Sheffield Hallam University and qualified in 1997.


I have taught in a number of different authorities including, Nottinghamshire, Rotherham and Sheffield.

I taught full-time for the first 2 years before having my two children. I then worked in job-shares for 9 and a half years before returning to full-time and taking on leadership roles.

I was appointed as Headteacher at North Wingfield Primary and Nursery school in October 2015 and took up my role in January 2016.

I have lived in North Wingfield all my life and attended North Wingfield Primary School Myself. I currently have two children in school with the third joining next September (2019).  
​
I have been in the education profession for 13 years as a teaching assistant in schools all around Derbyshire and as a nursery nurse at a local day nursery. I am currently a teaching assistant working with primary aged children, who have special educational needs and those who find it hard to be in a Mainstream school.

I am on the resource committee, science and health and safety. I hope that my educational background as well as being a parent will allow me to make the best decisions for the school as a whole.

I was born in Derbyshire and live in North Wingfield. I have worked locally all my life. I have over 25 years of experience working with children in various roles throughout my career.

I have worked as a youth worker within our local villages and community I support children and young people and their families daily in my current role.

I have been involved with our local authority training teams and external agency’s to design and develop CSE safeguarding training. I am dedicated to raising awareness around safeguarding children and young people.

I also enjoy delivering training for early year’s settings and HENRY, I became a Community Adult Education tutor to continue my own development and continue sharing my skills and passion around safeguarding across all sectors.

I have a creative aspiration that will continue to develop and design exciting and innovative ways to safeguard and deliver training to children and young people alongside professionals.  


Fiona Gould

My name is Fiona Gould, I am originally from Sedgefield, County Durham.

I began my working life as a member of the Royal Air force, serving for 9 years in the military Police. I then left due to having a young family.

I then served as a Prison officer in Scotland for 4 years.

I then returned to education and trained as a chef, and began working in the Cotswolds in a busy hotel.

We moved to North Wingfield in December 2018, and our two young boys have confidently, settled into their new school environment, enjoying every minute.

I am now the unit manager at Bolsover Academy, enjoying the new challenge.

I have already found the role of parent governer fascinating and rewarding and I am alert of school life.

I have taught at North Wingfield since September 2011 and during this time I have loved getting to know many families and their children.
