Welcome to Reception!
This term we are starting off with a book called 'I am Henry Finch'.
We have a 'Thinking Zone' role play where the children will practise being great thinkers, artists, writers, designers, builders, explorers and more!
Thank you for working on name writing at home over half term, it's really paying off! We are continuing to focus on this over the next few weeks.
We will be solving problems and using lots of Kagan group work to make our learning interactive and fun.

Our P.E day is Thursday and this term we will be doing yoga.
We will keep P.E kits in school and send them home at the end of each half term for you to wash.
The children will also take part in baking sessions every Wednesday afternoon.
Baking money of £1 is to be paid every Monday. If you would like to pay for the whole term, that is also fine.

Christmas is coming...
We will visiting a real-life nativity on a farm in Sheffield this term. The children will meet the animals and act out the nativity alongside children from other schools. More information will be available soon.
Home Learning Packs and Reading Books
'In your child,s book bag you will find a wallet containing key words, character names and pictures and a reading book Please practise these little and often at home. We will also use them with your child in class, so please make sure they stay in their book bag.
When your child can read the first set of words, they will get a book with words.
We will change your child;s reading book and give them new keywords when they are ready.

Children in Need
This week we are baking and decorating Pudsey bear buns to raise money for Children in Need. They will be for sold on Friday after school. Don't forget to get dressed up in something spotty on Friday! Get creative with your outfit. There are loads of ways to make a spotty top.
