This term we are learning about Ourselves
Welcome back, we hope you had a great summer break, and for most of us the weather has continued to be kind to us, long may it continue.
Can I extend a warm welcome to our new children and their parents/carers. We look forward to welcoming you into our nursery family and the wider school community. If you have an issue or a concern, please come and speak to us, there is no such thing as a silly question.
Please make sure your child has a coat (named) at school and as the weather continues to shine, please make sure they bring a hat with them. Wellies can be left at school (please make sure all clothing is named).
We are really excited to introduce our new topic Ourselves.
The children will be learning all about what makes them special, similarities and differences, where they live and the people who are significant to them
In Numeracy the children will be beginning to recognise, write and count using the numbers up to 10+. We will be learning to count forwards and backwards, say the number 1 more than a given number, begin to write numbers, count objects accurately and find and use numbers as labels.
In Literacy the children will be learning lots of new rhymes, listening to lots of exciting stories and looking at non-fiction books. They will be writing lots of letter shapes and starting to recognise and write their name. They will look at story settings and story characters and talk about how a story might end.
Our role play area will be a vets.
In our mini topic we will be learning all about Autumn. We will be looking at changes to the world around us and going on an Autumn walk around the school grounds (if you go on any Autumn walks please bring some of the objects you have found so that the children can share them with their friends .
