This term we are learning about Traditional Stories
Welcome back and a Happy New Year to you all! We hope you all enjoyed the Christmas break.
A big welcome to our new children and their families.
Please make sure your child has a coat (named) at school and as the weather cools down again please bring a hat with them. Wellies can be left at school (please make sure all clothing is named).
We are really excited to introduce our new topic Traditional Tales.
The children will be learning all about the different traditional stories there are. The first story we will be doing is 'The Gingerbread Man'.
In Numeracy the children will be beginning to recognise, write and count using the numbers up to 10. We will be learning to count forwards and backwards, begin to write numbers, count objects accurately and find and use numbers as labels.
In Literacy the children will be learning lots of new rhymes, listening to traditional tales and other stories and looking at non-fiction books. They will be writing lots of letter shapes and starting to recognise and write their name. They will look at story settings and story characters and make up story trails.
In our mini topic we will be learning all about Winter. Our role play area will be The Three Bears Cottage.
In nursery we have themed days

Tuesday - Number day

We will be learning songs and rhymes about ourselves, please help your child to learn them at home.
