This term we are learning about Nursery Rhymes
Welcome back, we hope you had a great 1/2 term break. Can you believe we are only a few weeks away from Christmas.
We want you all to feel part of our nursery family. If you have an issue or a concern, please come and speak to us, there is no such thing as a silly question.
Please make sure your child has a coat (named) at school and as the weather continues to shine, please make sure they bring a hat with them. Wellies can be left at school (please make sure all clothing is named).
We are really excited to introduce our new topic Nursery Rhymes.
The children will be learning different nursery rhymes and taking part in our nursery rhyme challenge.
In Numeracy the children will be beginning to recognise, write and count using the numbers up to 10+. We will be learning to count forwards and backwards, say the number 1 more than a given number, begin to write numbers, count objects accurately and find and use numbers as labels.
In Literacy the children will be learning lots of new rhymes, listening to lots of exciting stories and looking at non-fiction books. They will be writing lots of letter shapes and starting to recognise and write their name. They will look at story settings and story characters and talk about how a story might end. The children will take part in the Nursery Rhyme Challenge.
Our role play area will be a home corner.
In our mini topic we will be learning all about Winter festivals. We will be looking at Diwali, and we will be learning why Christmas is a special time of year for lots of faiths.
