This term we are learning about Food and Shopping
Welcome back, we hope you had a good Easter break, even though the weather wasn't particularly kind to us.
A big welcome to our new children and their families, we look forward to getting to know you all.
Please make sure your child has a coat (named) at school and as the weather warms up again please bring a hat with them. Wellies can be left at school (please make sure all clothing is named).
We are really excited to introduce our new topic Food & Shopping.
The children will be learning all about the different types of food, where it comes from and the places that we can buy it from. The first story we will be doing is 'The Giant Jam Sandwich'.
In Numeracy the children will be beginning to recognise, write and count using the numbers up to 10. We will be learning to count forwards and backwards, begin to write numbers, count objects accurately and find and use numbers as labels.
In Literacy the children will be learning lots of new rhymes, listening to lots of exciting stories and looking at non-fiction books. They will be writing lots of letter shapes and starting to recognise and write their name. They will look at story settings and story characters and talk about how a story might end.
Our role play area will be a fruit and veg shop.
In our mini topic we will be learning all about Spring. We will be looking at new life, changes to the world around us and doing some planting in our outdoor area.
