We are continuing with our exciting topic this half term, all about 'World War II.
In this topic, we will be finding out about what caused World War II, who was involved and what actually happened during the conflict.
Maths Year 5 will be focussing on: * Fractions and shape Year 6 will be focussing on: * Multi-step problems *Revising maths concepts learned so far. English In English, our key text this half term will be ‘ Otto: An autobiography of a Teddy Bear'. This text is linked to our topic of the World war II' During this half term we will focus on: * Character descriptions * Diary entries * Narrative *Newspaper reports and much more Through our English lessons, we will also focus on our grammar, spelling and punctuation. We will learn, practice and refine using commas and semi colons, exclamation marks and punctuation involving parenthesis. We will also look at using fronted adverbials, using word choices carefully in our work and looking at spelling rules.
Science 'Animals including humans' In this unit: Children will learn about the life cycle of a human being. They will investigate the development of babies and compare the gestation period of humans and other animals. They will learn about the changes experienced during puberty and why these occur. The final investigation will be about the changes to the body as humans get older, as well as comparing the life expectancy of different animals.
