We have a very interesting and exciting topic this half term, all about 'The Titanic'.
In this topic, we will be finding out about how the 'Titnaic' was built, who was on board and what actually happened to the ship on its maiden voyage accross the Atlantic ocean.
Maths (Based on White Rose Maths Scheme) Year 5 will be focussing on: * Fractions and shape Year 6 will be focussing on: * Multistep problems * Angles English In English, our key text this half term will be ‘Kasper: Prince of Cats’ by Michael Morpurgo. This text is linked to our topic of the 'Titanic' During this half term we will focus on: * Character descriptions * Non-chronological Reports * Narrative *Newspaper reports Through our English lessons, we will also focus on our grammar, spelling and punctuation. We will learn, practise and refine using commas and semi colons. We will also look at using fronted adverbials, using word choices carefully in our work and looking at spelling rules.
Science 'Changing Materials' Our science lessons this half term will include: irreversible changes, separating mixtures, dissolving, conductors and insulators and the properties of materials.
